McCann, G. D. (Conference Chairman)
Proceedings of the Western Computer Conference Held By the Joint IRE-AIEE-ACM Computer Conference Committee Los Angeles, California, February 4-6, 1953
New York: Institute of Radio Engineers 1953. Paper Wrappers. [1]-231 pages. Original light green printed wraps. Stamp of 'Dr. Frank M. Verzuh Room 7-308' and received date on front cover. 'Los Angeles 1953' and '53' hand written on spine panel. Spine panel faded to a light brown. Several pages with impressions of old paperclips at top. Otherwise bright and clean internally. Lithoprinted in the US and published by the IRE in June 1953. Oddly, this conference is not noted in Origins of Cyberspace. Dr. Verzuh was one of only 28 people invited to the now famous Moore School Lectures. He played a pivotal role in retrospect, with many lecture notes that he took contributing to the understanding of what actually went on at these early computing lectures - many of the speakers didn't have notes for their talks, and spoke from experience. We have other books from Dr. Verzuh's library as well. Very Good. [Book #17672] |
