Association for Computing Machinery
Association for Computing Machinery Eleventh Annual Meeting

Los Angeles, CA: University of California 1956. Stiff Wrappers. First Edition. Approximately 170 pages, un-numbered. Accopress bound loose leaf hole-punched (as issued?). With the stamp of F.M.Verzuh dated Sep 7, 1956 on "title page" and first article. Lacks formal title page (informal title page frayed at foreedge and a bit "proud"), this is a collection of copies of some 40+ (mostly 3-4 page) papers presented at the 1956 Annual Meeting of the ACM. The ACM web portal has a complete list of papers from this annual meeting, all of which are present here, except for a 4 page paper by Hansen called "technical market analysis using a computer". Although we have not handled this item before, it appears it was issued without a formal title page (notes in OCLC support this). Interesting articles including one proposing a method of teaching digital techniques to youngsters. Professor Frank M. Verzuh worked on the MIT Rapid Arithmetic machine and was active in early computing with the ACM. Very Good.
