Stereoroentgenography: Pulmonary Tuberculosis [ Stereoviews ]

Baltimore: Dr. Howard A. Kelly [1915]. [1], 83 leaves (versos blank) with interleaved stereocards and text w/illustrations of tuberculosis related medical views. Often found lacking the text, here present (several underlined sentences on a few cards). Enclosed in a cloth portfolio slip with cotton ties and index printed inside front cover. Slipcase present, cracked along upper edge, worn at extremities, otherwise sound. Very Good. Boards. [23520]

Although the copyright page notes 1951, this is no doubt a typographical error as the Southworth Company of Troy NY (noted as publishers) do not appear in the literature after about 1922. Dr. Kelly issued other stereoviews as well in a larger set. These sets were important teaching tools in the days before computers and CAT scans, when the only alternative for visualizing disease in teaching outside of the autopsy room was in this form (three-dimensional x-rays when viewed through a stereoscope). Even today they are fascinating to view.
