Signature of Robert S. Mulliken (Nobel Prize Chemistry 1966) dated Nov 9, 1926 on front flyleaf. During this time Mulliken was travelling to Europe and worked with many scientists on quantum mechanics who later were awarded Nobel prizes. He also taught physics at New York University. A second signature is of Ann Hepburn dated 1928 (wife of Norman Hilberry, who ran Argonne National Laboratory). The authors Franck (Nobel Prize in Physics 1925) and Jordan were both very active in the field. Title translation: "Excitation of quantum jumps by violations".
