Contains much on the practical aspects of aerial photography during World War I, based on interviews conducted with men from the various aerial services. Finding even passable copies of this book is difficult as it contains much of interest to the working engineer - most copies we've seen have been well used. This is a better than average example.

Ives was involved with the early development of television and was awarded "three times the Edward Longstreth Medal from the Franklin Institute: in 1907, 1915 and 1919, awarded the Frederic Ives Medal from the Optical Society of America in 1937, and was recognized for his wartime work when
U. S. President Harry Truman awarded Ives the Medal for Merit in 1948 for his war-time work on blackout lighting and optical communication systems." (wiki)
