A systematic monograph on technical glasses. The foreword notes that the book "covers over 850 different sorts of technical glasses". Sample section titles include Properties of Technical Glasses, Glasses of the G20 type, The Glass Electrode, Sealing Glasses, Glasses resistent to Metallic Vapours, etc. Co-published with SNTL, Publishers of Technical Literature Prague, and translated into English by Sylvia E. Myhre and K. Fink, authorized English edition by K. Caslavsky. Highly technical, apparently core reference (cited by many websites on glass). For those interested in other monographs by Volf, this is NOT the treatise Chemical Glasses, which this title is occasionally confused with.
