Letters Lovecraftian - an Alphabet of Illuminated Letters Inspired by the Works of the Late Master of the Weird Tale, Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937)

Fabian, Stephen E. Saddle River, NJ: Gerry De La Ree 1974. First Edition. [4], [52] pages. Title page, copyright page, 2 pages of introduction, followed by 26 leaves (each with a centered illustration of one letter of the alphabet, with verse below, blank on reverse). 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Comb bound. Issued in an edition of 400 copies, it is surprisingly scarce today. This copy SIGNED by artist/author Fabian, and in the limitation notice states 'Artists copy'. Near Fine. Comb. [19082]

One of an unknown number of artists' copies. The illuminated alphabet letters are presented original size as drawn by the Fabian, not reduced as for anticipated future books. Nice examples of Fabian's pen and ink work, which is under-rated by this viewer. Inspired by the work of HP Lovecraft.
