Followed by title leaf for plate section, and then 34 double folding plates, a 14 pages catalog of Jone's instruments and finally 2 pages ads. Calf binding rebacked to style with original red label preserved. Plates are trimmed nearly to the plate mark with most borders showing but some captions trimmed off, and some have minor browning/spotting and recreasing. Generally bright and clean internally. Jones, Opticians, Holborn London. An interesting treatise focused mostly on surveying and the instruments and techniques used therein. Contains a page of 18th century titles consulted in the preparation of the work, which are in themselves interesting to review. Pantagraph, spirit levels, trigonometric problems, chains, levelling cross, optical square, theodolites, and many others are included in this practical treatise.
