The Second edition (first was 1898). Based on "a course of lectures given to the pupils and workmen at an electrical engineering factory under the title 'Short Lectures to Electrical Artisans.' Here brought up to date with the current state of the art. Fleming was well known in his time, inventing the "Thermionic Valve" (vacuum tube), consulting with Edison and many others on electrical matters. There was also a third edition published in 1914.
