A fascinating book which illustrates mining in the Freiberg mines, each image taken using Magnesium flash. The first image shows the works from a distance, followed by miners going down the shaft in a narrow elevator, and many of men working. Several images include horses hauling out carts from the tunnels. The images show various methods for shoring up the tunnels, everything from wood beams to brick to carefully piled stone. The publication date was from image captions, each labelled 1892. 10 copies in OCLC/Worldcat as of this listing.
