Boston [ Massachusetts ]: J. H. Eastburn 1845. First Edition. [4], 128, xxxii pages. 8vo. Self wrappers. Plus folded lithographed map of the vicinity of Boston showing sources of water (p.32) Full page charts are integral to the pagination. Complete. This copy with severely taped spine (effective but unsightly). Appendix As contains a report on the analysis of the waters, by B. Silliman, Jr. Minor foxing throughout, some ink and pencil highlighting of paragraphs. Good. Wraps. [26462]

This work, one of several in the period related to the Boston Water supply and the search for it, is often mis-catalogued as complete with a lesser page count because of the way it was printed. In addition, although OCLC/Worldcat notes a folding map and folding chart, we've never seen a copy with a folding chart in it. There ARE five full page charts/illustrations integral to the pagination, and one folding map in addition. Harvard's digitized copy (the Haiti trust version is incorrectly truncated) contains no folding chart.
