Photographic Printing Processes

Boston, Massachusetts: American Photographic Publishing Co. [ 1930 ]. First American Edition. xvi, 260 pages. 8vo. Publisher's red cloth gilt. Several small stains to binding. Occasional comments (at least one inked, but most in pencil) from a (rather opinionated and perhaps informed) mystery reader. Original sepia toned print as frontispiece (sometimes missing). Nearly full page errata sheet tipped in before preface. Very Good. Cloth. [26737]

The author's goal was to create a compact book which treats the creation of photographic prints by chemical (rather than mechanical) means. Based on the contents, he has been thorough, dealing with plain salted and albuminized paper, POP printing, Colloid-chloride paper, self-toning papers, bromide printing, carbon printing, the carbro process, platinotype and palladiotypes, gum-bichromate, oil, bromide, iron-printing processes, dye-printing, and even printing on china and fabrics.
