London: C. L. H. Wallace, Philanthropic Reform Publisher, Oxford Mansion, W. 1887. xxxii, 541 pages. 8vo. Publisher's cloth. Light overall wear, a nice copy. Pencilled passage highlights. Frontispiece appears to be a woodburytype of the Countess. Very Good. Cloth. [26768]

OCLC has a number of entries for this title, all with the same page count. We found no stated edition (the first?), 2nd, 3rd (as here) and 4th "editions". Given that the page count is exactly the same it more likely that they are multiple printings rather than editions, but this is merely conjecture, given that we have no other copies to compare to.

The chapters explain various branches of theosophy ("a collection of mystical and occultist philosophies concerning, or seeking direct knowledge of the presumed mysteries of life and nature, particularly of the nature of divinity and the origin and purpose of the universe" wiki). The running title on the verso is "Universal Theosophy."

Scarce in the marketplace.
