This is the first British edition, following the first American in the same year. Scarcer than the American edition, with less than half the copies shown in OCLC.
Rontgen's discovery of xrays in the previous year reverberated around the world very quickly as a potential new tool in medicine with many applications. Morton was a well known X Ray Expert.
