Frontis diagram plus 32 plates in rear reproducing Morton's radiographs. 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Publisher's mottled grey cloth with brown hand "x-ray" and gilt titles. A few spots here and there, binding rolled, small tear to front flyleaf. Still a nice copy of a scarce work. Very Good. Cloth. [27249]


This is the first British edition, following the first American in the same year. Scarcer than the American edition, with less than half the copies shown in OCLC.

Rontgen's discovery of xrays in the previous year reverberated around the world very quickly as a potential new tool in medicine with many applications. Morton was a well known X Ray Expert. His publication "The X-Ray and its application to dentistry" (Dental Cosmos, 1896) was the first dental radiography in American (G/M 5th 2684.3 & 3689
