Something about X rays for everybody

Lynn, Mass. Bubier Publishing Co. 1896. First Edition. 78, [2-appendix], [2-ads] pages. 5 x 6 3/4 inches. Publisher's stiff paper boards with maroon cloth veneer (gilt decorations, blank spine). Previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown (G. W. Cornwell). Browning to title page except where bookplate is. Very Good. Boards. [27254]

Another popular book compiled by the author, dated June 10, 1896 in the preface, and intended to offer additional information to the public seeking more information on the new invention. Includes chapters on "The Intensity Coil and the Crookes Tube", "Experiments with X Rays" and "The Fluorscope and other apparatus" along with an index. Trevert published many popular texts related to electricity in this time period, many published by Bubier.

There are several variations of this work. The hardcover, as offered here, lacks several additional advertisements that are present in the softcover edition. This copy has a leaf tipped in after page 78 titled Appendix, with types of xray tubes identified on the recto, and illustrations of those tubes on the verso. Given that the page size [ of the tipped in leaf ] is slightly smaller, it may be a later addition - but one if so certainly germaine to the text and subject. A second edition was published in 1897 with 93 pages.

This is the ORIGINAL edition, not the later reproduction from the 1980s.
