Haarlem-Holland: The Technical Publishing Company H. Stam [ 1946 ]. First Edition. [6], 7-472 pages. 8vo. Publisher's black cloth with titles in gilt and red. Lacks the rare dust jacket. Lower corners bumped. This copy one of the few with a full page presentation bookplate depicting a medieval assault on a castle complete with rocket launch on the front pastedown. Our copy SIGNED by both authors, and presented to Dr. J. D. Ruys. Near Fine. Cloth. [27260]
"One of the earliest post-war books on rocketry. This important work provides a compilation of the material obtained by Uytenbogaart for the Allies during World War II. Includes detailed information on V-2 design and operations (including maps of launch sites), the use of rockets for space travel, and a mathematical analysis of rocket dynamics."
Ciancone notes that this edition is known in blue or black cloth, no priority known. He does not note this variation with the presentation bookplate, which we've seen with one author signature, and here for the first time with both.
