[ artifact, chemistry ] Sodium Chloride atomic lattice model

We are pleased to offer an early didactic model used to show students what sodium chloride lattices looked like. Better known to most as "salt", sodium chloride exhibits interesting properties.

This model is early (I'd guess last quarter nineteenth century) and is made of painted wood balls and malleable wire. The whole lattice structure has weathered to the point where it would look as great in a country antique show as it would in an old display of philosophical apparatus.

Large, at just over a foot in each dimension it is an impressive and discussion provoking object.

We often have a wide range of instruments for sale from $100 to $5000. Please inquire.
