This is a rare still photograph from an early Lumiere Films. Disembarking passengers at a dock. We are not sure what specific film this came from, and leave it as an exercise for the next owner! Many of the Lumiere brothers' scenes were from everyday life, making them even more compelling.

PROVENANCE: Purchased at Skinner Sale 2283 (May 3, 2005). The auctioneer told us it came from a private cinema collection originally obtained at the famous Will Day Historical Cinema collection auction in the 1930s.

Quite rare in the marketplace, and a real piece of cinematic history.
