"The rare first edition printed in Italy of Musschenbroek's lectures, edited and posthumously published by Johann Lolofs. This Latin work (first: Leyden, 1762; Partington, II, 739) was 'widely used and translated into Dutch, English, French, and German...The experiments can be studied in [his] books which contain fine illustrations; they deal with the mechanics of rigid bodies, air pressure, heat, cohesion, capillarity, phosphorescence, magnetism, and electricity.
