An original watercolor with goache highlights of a beautiful woman with pearl necklace and blue eyes. Apparently originally mounted to artists board, now removed. No signature or other indication of time or place. Good. [28738]


A nicely done portrait, capturing a wistful expression and the life of the subject. The artist had some skill. The artists' methods are visible, with some penciled outlining and other signs of workmanship which we find attractive. Various blemishes overall including a crease at the top of the hairline at top. A horizontal pencil line just below the necklace where a previous owner was considering trimming it (presumably for framing).

We're not sure when this was done, but it reminds us of 1930s fashion and would look nice framed. I wish I knew who the artist was!
