A great collection of twenty five original pen and ink cartoon drawings published in the largest student-led news organization in Georgia. They range in size from 34.3x24cm and 27.7x20.2cm. Mike [Meike] Moreu is a political cartoonist, writer, and illustrator. Meike transitioned after 48 years living as a man, gradually after writing under a female pseudonym publically transitioning. We have included a printout of an Article in the Saturday, August 14, 2021 magazine "You and Your Lifestyle" with Mieke Moreu on the cover which tells their story. They currently live in New Zealand where they have worked for newspapers including The Press and The Dominion Post as an ediorial cartoonist. A "best of" collection of editorial cartoons from New Zealand was published under the name "Mike Moreu's Tooned in : a collection of editorial cartoons from New Zealand" and is held in nine institutions according to OCLC Worldcat, most in New Zealand.
This collection of twenty-five illustrations was published in the United States in the Red & Black before Meike transitioned. The cartoons highlight a wry political wit and range widely with issues of the time.
