London: Printed for J. Johnson, No 72, St. Paul's Church-Yard 1772. First Edition. Two volumes. Quarto, uniformly bound in 1/4 calf over marbled boards. Marbled endpapers, page edges tinted yellow. With the bookplate of E. N. da C. Andrade (Fellow of the Royal Society) on front pastedowns. Spine with red label and simple gold ruling with number 328 at base.

Volume 1: v, [1 (blank)], [viii], xvi, [1]-422 pages + folding frontispiece and folding plates I-XV in rear. (one plate bound out of order). Front hinge cracked but holding.
Volume 2: 423-812, [6-(index)], [6-(catalogue of books owned by Priestley)] pages + folding plates XVI-XXIV in rear. Binding sound.

Occasional foxing (mostly on the plates), overall light wear to the bindings. A nice clean example. Very Good. Calf. [29688]
