[Sample book] Kodak professional photographic papers
[no place of publication stated]: Kodak circa 1967. Small plastic binder metal comb binding containing 27 black and white photographs on different types of Kodak paper. Paper samples are 5 1/2 x 4 1/8 inch, all comb punched as issued. 3 separate explanatory paper inserts in the binding (2 folding) explaining the various types. We do not know if this was "as issued" because the binding can easily be opened and new items added or obsolete items removed. Soiling to the binder plastic. The photographic papers are bright and clean. THe first page has a number 3-67 lower right which we take to mean a rough publication date of 1967. Very Good. Comb. [29732]
It is remarkable to this writer that as many Kodak outlets as there were, the number of actual sample books institutionally is pretty thin. Our search using "Kodak professional photographic papers" found examples in OCLC from 1941 to the 1980s, many in one or two examples, the most common OCLC entry with 13 examples. Most examples were discarded as new sample books were produced. These are useful today for research purposes, and identification of papers produced by the company.
